About Auris Relocation

Auris Relocation is a Swiss relocation and global mobility firm with nine offices of its own, spread across the German-, French- and Italian-speaking parts of the country. The Auris Relocation Zurich office on Sternenstrasse is one of them; the others are in Zug, where the company has its registered seat, Basel, Bern, Lucerne, Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano and Môtiers in the canton of Neuchâtel. Each office looks after a region, such as Zurich and Eastern Switzerland or Geneva and neighbouring France. The company was entered in the commercial register in 2002 and has carried the Auris name since 2009.

Auris works for companies, their staff and families, and for private clients. For HR and management it starts before the move, with advice on relocation strategy and policy and, for firms setting up here, a comparison of cantons and municipalities on tax, staff and property. The immigration team prepares work and residence permits for EU/EFTA and non-EU/EFTA nationals with the employer, coordinates visas in the home country, handles family reunion, goes along to the commune and the biometrics appointment and files extensions. Staff posted abroad from Switzerland keep Auris as their single contact, with partners doing the work in the destination country.

Families can book the whole package or single modules: an orientation programme built around the household, furnished flats or serviced apartments as a bridge, rental furniture when time is short, and school and childcare advice across local, bilingual, international and boarding schools. In the home search a key account manager pins down the brief, then a local consultant shortlists, joins the viewings and pushes the application. Auris checks the lease, negotiates and arranges utilities and the move-in. When clients leave, it ends the lease, finds a replacement tenant if needed, attends the final inspection and recovers the deposit.

Two parts of the offer go beyond a classic agency. Cross-cultural trainers prepare incoming employees and, in sessions of their own, partners and children for Swiss work and daily life, and brief people leaving Switzerland on their destination; partners looking for work get first coaching on the Swiss job market. Every package also includes AurisRelocationOnline, a secure platform for documents, shortlists, case status and permit reminders, and the AurisAdvisoryApp, an ad-free guide to life in Switzerland.

Auris Relocation is a full member of EuRA, which awarded it the Global Quality Seal in 2010, renewed ever since, and it is listed among the full members of SARA, the Swiss Association of Relocation Agents. ISO 27001 certification followed in 2024 and an EcoVadis Silver medal in March 2025. The team page names 36 people, led by CEO and Managing Partner Sjoerd Broers and the regional directors Adrian von Moos and Sophie Colas.

What Auris Relocation does

Work and residence permits

The immigration specialists work with the employer and the transferee to put together the documents each case needs, whether for EU/EFTA citizens on local contracts, posted employees or non-EU/EFTA nationals, and follow the file until the permit is issued. They coordinate visa support in the home country, handle family reunion, go with newcomers to register at the commune and to the biometrics appointment, and file extensions. AurisRelocationOnline tracks each application and sends renewal reminders.

Home search

A key account manager first works out budget, commute, schools and the kind of area that fits, and weighs that against the local market. A relocation consultant from the nearest office then searches, shortlists properties in AurisRelocationOnline, joins the viewings and pushes the application until a flat is secured. Auris checks the lease, negotiates and explains tenants' rights and duties, then arranges utilities and the move-in. Its contacts also turn up homes that never reach the open market, and buyers get help with the purchase process.

Orientation, temporary housing and schools

Orientation programmes are built around each household and are useful even before the decision to move is final. Auris finds furnished flats or serviced apartments for the first weeks and arranges rental furniture when deadlines are tight. The school advice covers local, bilingual, international and boarding schools, sets out the pros and cons for each child, and continues with school visits, registration and help finding pre-school or daycare places.

Settling in and departure

After the move, consultants and the AurisAdvisoryApp cover the first-weeks list: registering with the commune, health and other insurance, banking, tax, exchanging a driving licence, language courses, sport and local associations, with a helpline during and after the move. When it is time to leave, Auris terminates the lease, looks for a replacement tenant, books final cleaning, attends the inspection, recovers the deposit, cancels utilities and handles the formalities with the commune and schools.

Move management

Auris asks local and international removal companies to quote on the same scope, so the offers can actually be compared, helps choose one in line with the employer's relocation policy and then oversees the whole move. The service is open to single transferees, private clients and companies moving a whole team at once. It also covers moves out of Switzerland, where Auris supervises the work on site and keeps everyone informed on the status of each move.

Global mobility management

For HR teams sending staff from Switzerland abroad, Auris advises on relocation policy and the effect of different scenarios, then coordinates the services its partners deliver in the destination country while remaining the single contact and checking quality. It can look after a Swiss home the employee rents or owns while they are away, organise cross-cultural and language training before departure and run the move. HR sees all ongoing assignments in real time in AurisRelocationOnline.

Corporate advisory and property search

Companies planning to set up in Switzerland get help choosing a location, comparing cantons and municipalities on feasibility, tax, staff and the property market, with qualified tax specialists brought in where needed. Auris then searches for offices or business premises to rent or buy, joins the viewings, advises on price and negotiates the contract. It can also manage a construction, conversion or fit-out project, including IT and telecom installation, and coordinate the corporate move.

Cross-cultural training

Trainers start with a call to understand each family member's experience and concerns, then run individual or small-group sessions, in person or remotely, on Swiss history, politics and the values behind everyday behaviour at work and at home. Partners and children get sessions of their own, and employees leaving Switzerland get training focused on their destination. Auris works with language schools rather than teaching languages itself, and gives partners first coaching on the Swiss job market, CVs and interviews.

Prices and how Auris Relocation charges

Auris Relocation does not publish prices on its website. Its services are modular: a company or family can book the complete relocation package or combine only the elements it needs, and the quote follows that scope. Two points the site does make: for property purchases, Auris says it accepts no commission from sellers, and for removals it collects quotes for comparable service from several moving companies, in line with the employer's relocation policy where there is one. The AurisAdvisoryApp that comes with every service package is free of advertising and funded by Auris. For a quote, use the enquiry form or contact the office for your region.

Questions about Auris Relocation

What does Auris Relocation do?

Auris Relocation handles moves to, within and out of Switzerland: work and residence permits, home search, temporary housing, school advice, settling in, move management and cross-cultural training. For companies it adds relocation policy advice, global mobility management for staff posted abroad, and help choosing a business location and premises. You can book the full package or single modules.

Which cities does Auris Relocation cover?

Auris Relocation has its own offices in Zurich, Zug, Basel, Bern, Lucerne, Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano and Môtiers in the canton of Neuchâtel. Each office is organised around a region, for example Zurich and Eastern Switzerland, Lucerne and Central Switzerland, or Geneva and neighbouring France, so the network covers the whole country.

How much does Auris Relocation cost?

Auris Relocation does not publish prices. Its services are modular, so the quote depends on whether you book the complete package or only some modules. For property purchases Auris says it takes no commission from sellers, and for removals it compares quotes from several movers. Ask the office for your region or use the enquiry form for a quote.

Does Auris Relocation help with Swiss work permits?

Yes, immigration is one of its core services. Auris Relocation's specialists prepare work and residence permit applications with the employer for EU/EFTA and non-EU/EFTA nationals, coordinate visa support in the home country and follow the file with the authorities. They also handle family reunion, registration at the commune after arrival, the biometrics appointment and permit extensions.

Is Auris Relocation for companies or private clients?

Both. Auris Relocation works with companies, from top management to HR and talent teams, with their employees and families, and with private individuals planning to settle in Switzerland. It also works as a Swiss provider for global relocation management companies. Private clients can book the same modular services directly.

Which languages does Auris Relocation speak?

All of Auris Relocation's consultants work in English, and each also speaks German, French or both. Several team profiles list Italian or Spanish, and a few Dutch, Portuguese and other languages; the Lugano office covers Italian-speaking Ticino. If you need a particular language, say so in your enquiry so the right consultant can take it on.

How do I contact Auris Relocation?

Use the enquiry form on this page or call the Zurich office on +41 44 808 60 00; general email goes to info@aurisrelocation.com. Each of the nine offices also has its own phone number and email address, listed on the contact page of the Auris website, so you can reach the team for your region directly.
