A move between two addresses in the city is reported to the Personenmeldeamt within 14 days. The online notice opens 30 days before the move and needs the reference number from the registration confirmation, the lease or flat certificate and a card or TWINT payment; foreign nationals also pay the Migrationsamt’s CHF 30 fee (City of Zurich, checked 21 Oct 2026). The online notice can also order a provisional parking card for CHF 15, valid for 45 days, and pass the new address to the Strassenverkehrsamt, which asks for the vehicle permit in the original by post (City of Zurich, checked 21 Oct 2026).

Kerb space for a removal van is reserved through the city police. Bays can be reserved only where the work cannot reasonably be done otherwise, for at most 14 days, with seven working days’ notice in the blue zone and three in the white zone; one or two adjoining bays for a day cost between CHF 120 and CHF 170, and the confirmation usually arrives within two working days (City of Zurich, checked 21 Oct 2026).
