The Volksschulamt's register of approved private schools, dated 23 September 2026, shows three schools marked bilingual German–English with sites in Adliswil: a Montessori kindergarten and primary school, and two schools covering primary and secondary levels (Volksschulamt, checked ). The register also places the upper campus of one of the canton's five foreign-language schools at Moostrasse 15, but those schools follow different admission rules from bilingual ones (Volksschulamt, checked ).
Foreign-language schools may take only children whose families live in the canton temporarily, usually for under five years, plan to move abroad or are finishing schooling begun elsewhere; bilingual schools that teach the Zurich curriculum are outside that rule (Volksschulamt, checked ). A bilingual school needs a cantonal permit and has to offer education equivalent to the public Volksschule, so pupils can switch between the two; the canton does not check teaching quality, and there is no appeal against a private school's marks or promotion decisions (zh.ch, checked ).
Adliswil's Schulverwaltung (Zürichstrasse 10, 044 711 78 60) only monitors that compulsory schooling is met when parents choose a private school (zh.ch, checked )(Stadt Adliswil, checked ). Full-time bilingual places mostly cost CHF 25,000 to 34,000 a year in 2026–27, according to the Zurich schools guide.
