The school secretariat of Schulen Baar, Schule Dorfmatt B, Inwilerstrasse 4, is open Monday to Friday 08:00–12:00 and 13:30–17:00. Families moving in are asked to call 041 769 03 30 early, and the class assignment follows in writing (Schulen Baar, checked ) (Schulen Baar, checked ). For kindergarten in 2027/28, children born from 1 March 2021 to 28 February 2022 are compulsory entrants; registration is binding and closes on Monday 11 January 2027 at 12:00, with allocation by the end of May (Schulen Baar, checked ).
Baar's modular day school offers morning care from 07:00, a lunch table and afternoon care until 18:00 at five locations, with fees scaled to household income, for example CHF 8 to 18 for lunch (Schulen Baar, checked ).
From August 2026 the municipality's childcare voucher is at its maximum up to a relevant income of CHF 60,000 and falls to CHF 1.00 a day at CHF 140,000, and families pay at least CHF 15 a day per child. Bilingual Kitas qualify when at least half the care time is in German; Kitas teaching only in other languages do not (Gemeinde Baar, checked ). The canton's list of recognised private schools places five in Baar, among them the ISZL Zug Campus, teaching in English to grade 8, and Stepping Stones, an English-language kindergarten (Canton of Zug, checked ).
